Nelson Women’s and Children’s Refuge is a not for profit organisation, and every little bit counts.
Your support helps to prevent and eliminate domestic violence. You can make monetary donations, ‘Gift a Safe Night‘ for a women or child in need or donate other goods (see below for donation FAQs on what we can accept). With monetary donations you can choose how much or how little you want to donate. We also offer recurring donations where you can choose to donate the same amount every month.

Donation FAQs
We get asked frequently about how people can help through donations. Please read the below carefully so we can support women and children in the best possible way, and ensure your donation is put to the best possible use.
- We accept vouchers and cash.
- Donations of clothing, toys etc are much appreciated as long as they are clean, and a genuine donation i.e not just old items you do not want to take to the landfill.
- Food donations are gratefully received and are of immediate help for whanau. The best food donations are tinned and packaged foods so that they don’t perish before going to a needy family.
